Project Brief: The existing club facilities which were only ever of a temporary nature had fallen into a state of disrepair, reached the end of their design life and were in need of replacement. The Club had also outgrown their existing facilities with the number of teams playing under the West Hartlepool banner having increased.

The Client was also looking to expand their function room operations to generate income as well as providing a club bar in which members could socialise.

The project had to be completed to a strict budget as the Client only had finite resources following fund raising from bodies such as the RFU, Sport England and the Landfill Communities Fund all of which was obtained with assistance of Teigh + Co.

Project Summary:

After coming in initially over budget and after an extensive value engineering exercise the scheme was eventually constructed and completed on budget.

The completed building was earmarked by the RFU as a landmark building and also hosted the Webb Ellis Trophy (Rugby World Cup) on its national promotional tour prior to the start of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
